If you have no goal in sight then you wont know when you reach it. If your goal is to always be on time then you know where to start. this quote is saying to have a goal or what your doing is pointless. you have to know what your goal is or you will not know what to do. If you play soccer then you must know where the goal is or you will not make any points and you wont win. If you know were the goal is then you have a chance to make points and win. Knowing your goals is helpful in many ways like being able to know exactly when you finish them.
